Roger trained at Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Roger’s theatre credits in London and the West End include; DREAMBOATS & PETTICOATS (Playhouse Theatre & UK Tour); Stienbauer in A PATRIOT FOR ME (Haymarket); Jerry in the revival of CHARLIE GIRL (Victoria Palace Theatre); Charles the Wrestler in Trevor Nunn’s AS YOU LIKE IT (RSC – Aldwych); Trap in WILD OATS (RSC – Piccadilly); Senator Carver Jones in OF THEE I SING (Bridewell Theatre); and Alex Slingsby in HOW STEEPLE SINDERBY WANDERS WON THE FA CUP (Mermaid).
Roger’s other theatre work includes: Charles Bishop in the national tour of PRIVATES ON PARADE; Stuart in MIXED BLESSINGS (Orange Tree); the Scottish tour of JACQUES BREL IS ALIVE AND WELL; Puck MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM (Broomhill Productions); THE CHESTER MYSTERY PLAYS (Gulbenkian Institute in Lisbon); and repertory seasons at Bristol, Canterbury, Chichester, Farnham, Hornchurch, Leatherhead, Newbury, Oldham, Perth, Plymouth, Southampton, Stoke-on-Trent, Worchester and West Yorkshire Playhouse.
On television Roger is probably best known for his roles as Alan in TERRY AND JUNE, Roger the lodger in NO PLACE LIKE HOME, and frequent appearances in sketches with Dave Allen, Paul Merton, Jack Dee and Jeremy Hardy, Jasper Carrot, and Hale and Pace.
